We’re recruiting a results-driven business development executive to fuel M&A pipelines for our client within the Financial Services sector. In this hunter role, you’ll identify and qualify potential acquisition targets, engage directly with owners/founders, and open doors for institutional buyers. Key Responsibilities
- Run targeted, high-volume outreach to privately held companies across multiple sectors to source qualified opportunities.
- Lead discovery calls: assess financial profile, ownership, motives to transact, and timing.
- Build rapport with owners/C-suite; guide them through early exploration. Be consultative, not pushy.
- Qualify opportunities against revenue, profitability, growth, and deal fit. Document clearly in the CRM.
- Present buyer interest professionally and coordinate warm handoffs to the deal team.
- Track activity, conversion metrics, and pipeline health; share weekly insights.
- Promote collaboration and effective communication across all levels of the organization.
- Stay sharp on market dynamics, valuation trends, and deal activity.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business/Finance/Economics (or equivalent practical experience).
- 5+ years of B2B sales with consistent quota attainment.
- Comfortable engaging owners and senior executives. Strong executive presence and communication.
- Solid commercial acumen. Quick study across industries and business models.
- Proficient with modern CRMs (Salesforce/HubSpot or similar)
- Self-directed, accountable, and effective in a remote setting.
- Working knowledge of core financial statements and business metrics.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in financial services (e.g., wealth management, commercial lending, advisory).
- Exposure to M&A/corporate finance or business valuation concepts.
- Experience discussing financials with business owners (income statement, balance sheet basics).
- MBA or other advanced business credential.
- Track record in high-growth or entrepreneurial environments.
- Openness to pursue relevant securities licensing (e.g., Series 79/63) if required by role scope.
Benefits
- Base Salary: $60,000 – $80,000 per year (commensurate with experience)
- Performance-based incentive plan with no cap. On-Target Earnings (OTE): $125,000 – $300,000+ annually depending on performance.
