Want to break into email and digital strategy for politics? Working within a pod, Digital Coordinators provide basic support to client email programs. This job is an opportunity to learn email creative development and copywriting, production, reporting, and client relations. Digital Coordinators typically report to Managing Digital Strategists. This job is an opportunity to get in on the ground floor with a growing team at Middle Seat and learn the ins & outs of running email campaigns for Democratic candidates and organizations.
This role is a part of the bargaining unit.

Job Responsibilities
- Writes first drafts of email content (with supervision)
- Writes first drafts of content for donation forms and landing pages (with supervision)
- Helps podmates to get content reviewed, edited, and ready to ship to clients for final approval
- Learns how to use theories of change in email copy
- Learns how to produce and launch emails
- Learns basic HTML, CSS, and SQL as needed
- Learns basic CRM functionalities
- Learns the basics of email testing
- Learns how to pull, read, and interpret email performance metrics
- Learns how to set up donation forms and other landing pages
- Learns email reporting; can contribute to email reporting (with supervision)
- Keeps email reports up-to-date
- Attends brainstorms and other internal team meetings
- Attends client meetings
- Occasionally contributes ideas to email calendars
- Updates email calendars as needed
- Proofs peer emails, checking for accuracy and functionality
- Other responsibilities as requested
Requirements
Qualifications
- Interest in professional email production, digital fundraising, and political communications for progressive campaigns
- Demonstrated commitment to and knowledge of progressive politics
- Strong copywriting skills, especially for email, donation forms, and landing pages
- Ability to write clear, persuasive content that can be adapted to various client voices and theories of change
- Writing is consistently free of grammatical, spelling, and formatting errors
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage tight deadlines across multiple email calendars
- Willingness and ability to learn email production tools, including basic HTML, CSS, SQL, and CRM platforms
- Ability to interpret and apply email performance metrics (with training)
- Interest in learning A/B testing, deliverability considerations, and best practices for email engagement
- Basic familiarity with or willingness to learn donation form and landing page setup
- Ability to proof peer emails for accuracy, links, formatting, and functionality
- Strong communication and collaboration skills; comfortable working across pods and with clients
- Basic design or layout sensibilities (not required but helpful)
Strongly Preferred but Not Required
- Agency or campaign experience
- Experience working in email and digital strategy
- Knowledge of different CRMs (Action Kit, BSD, Action Network, NGP, etc.)
