100% Remote, USD competitive salary, paid time off, and more.
Key Responsibilities
Your mission: to turn color science and process control into customer satisfaction — ensuring every batch looks right, feels right, and performs flawlessly. You’ll travel across partner factories, audit dyeing operations, standardize methods, and build reliability into every lot produced.
-
Oversee bulk dyeing operations across partner factories — ensuring recipes, liquor ratios, and temperature profiles are consistently executed.
-
Audit and optimize dyeing lines for compression, elasticity, and color accuracy, ensuring each lot meets Trafilea’s exact standards.
-
Lead root cause analyses (5-Why, Fishbone) on shade drift, crocking, migration, or compression loss; drive corrective actions to closure.
-
Develop and implement critical control limits (CCLs) and “stop-the-line” procedures to prevent off-spec production.
-
Approve lab dips and bulk shades using spectrophotometric and visual methods (ΔE standards).
-
Maintain shade libraries and control systems to minimize re-dyes and shade variability.
-
Partner closely with Quality Control, Product Development, and Production to translate lab intent into scalable, consistent factory execution.
-
Monitor and report key dyeing KPIs — including re-dye rates, compression pass %, and shade accuracy — through Asana and shared dashboards.
-
Coach factory technicians on best practices, driving continuous improvement and operational discipline.
-
Ensure that new vendors onboard to Trafilea’s dyeing and finishing standards within their first production orders.
Job requirements
-
3–5+ years of hands-on experience in apparel dyeing, with expertise in knits, warp/weft, and compression fabrics.
-
Proficiency with spectrophotometry (ΔE methods), color evaluation, and shade band usage.
-
Strong understanding of compression and stretch recovery testing (ISO 20932 or equivalent).
-
Demonstrated ability to lead root cause analysis and implement CAPA on the factory floor.
-
Comfortable traveling 50–70% of the time across partner facilities.
-
Fluent in Mandarin and working English.
-
Tools: Google Suite, Asana (or similar task management tools), handheld QC devices.
-
(Nice to have) Degree in Textile Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Color Science.
-
(Nice to have) Familiarity with ISO 105 colorfastness and finishing processes impacting compression.
