Job Summary
The Financial Reporting Accountant will perform various duties to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for F&G Annuities and Life, Inc. and its subsidiaries (“FGAL”). This position is responsible for the preparation and review of financial statements and footnotes for FGAL filings on Forms 10-Q and 10-K in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (“GAAP”) as well as analytics and analysis. This position will also perform control responsibilities and support the Financial Reporting team prepping requests from internal and external auditors.
Organization
The Financial Reporting Accountant will report to the Manager, Financial Reporting. This position will work with other members of the Finance team and collaborate with other departments throughout the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities
The range of tasks to be performed may include, but may not be limited to, the following:
- Prepare and review financial statements and footnotes on a timely basis, with appropriate supporting documentation, via queries of the general ledger and requests for other financial data and preparing/reviewing tie outs and blacklines against other documents
- Prepare and review analytics and analysis to ensure the completeness and accuracy of the information
- Resolve review comments on a timely basis
- Partner with cross functional teams to obtain support and understand key drivers of information and quarterly/ year to date changes
- Execute internal controls designed to mitigate identified risks within the financial reporting process
- Research and advise on accounting areas in accordance with GAAP
- Assist with requests of both internal and external auditors
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and/or internal control enhancements
- Assist with ad hoc requests, special projects and other duties related to financial reporting and analysis, as assigned
Experience and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required with preference in Accounting / Finance
- Minimum of 1 year experience in related field
- General understanding of the functional area

- Highly motivated and demonstrated ability to take initiative

- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Excel, Word)
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to create complete accurate documentation of work performed
- Strong problem solving skills
- Ability to collaborate with internal customers and identify opportunities for improvement while demonstrating a strong desire to learn and grow.

- Regular and punctual attendance.
- Some travel required (less than 10%)
