Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN)
The Critical Care RNis a highly skilled and dedicated nursing professional responsible forproviding intensive care to patients with life-threatening conditions in theICU or other high-acuity settings. This role demands advanced clinicaljudgment, rapid decision-making, and the ability to manage complex medicalsituations in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. The Critical Care RNworks closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other members of thehealthcare team to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assess and monitor critically ill patients with complex medical needs
Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies including vasoactive drugs and sedation
Operate and manage advanced life-support equipment such as ventilators, infusion pumps, and cardiac monitors
Perform and assist with emergency procedures including intubation, central line placement, and CPR
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and adjust individualized care plans
Provide education and emotional support to patients and families
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
Adhere to infection control, safety, and quality standards
Respond promptly to emergencies including cardiac arrest, respiratory failure, and sepsis
Advocate for patients and uphold confidentiality and rights
Minimum Requirements:
Current RN license in the state of practice
Minimum one year of professional nursing experience; ICU or critical care experience required
Completion of Amergis' Competency Program (if applicable)
Current BLS and ACLS certifications (PALS preferred)
TB screening and health clearance (as required)
Compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Successful completion of new hire orientation and critical care training
Understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality
Strong communication skills and proficiency in English
Basic computer literacy
Must be at least 18 years of age
