In-Person Payments Specialist
The Merchant Support Specialist (POS) plays a key role in ensuring smooth and secure in-person payment transactions for our customers. You’ll serve as the subject matter expert across hardware, software, and compliance for card-present payment processing. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, technically skilled professional who thrives on solving problems and driving operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management

Oversee daily operations of all in-person payment systems, including POS terminals, card readers, and related software.

Monitor transaction performance and proactively identify and resolve issues.
Technical Support

Serve as the primary point of contact for payment-related technical issues.

Troubleshoot hardware malfunctions, transaction failures, and connectivity problems to ensure uninterrupted service.
Security & Compliance
-
Ensure compliance with PCI DSS and other relevant industry standards.

Maintain documentation and coordinate with internal teams to uphold security best practices.
Vendor Management
-
Act as the liaison with hardware vendors and POS software providers.

Manage vendor relationships, escalate issues, and evaluate new technology solutions for efficiency and scalability.
Market Knowledge
-
Stay informed on emerging payment technologies, market trends, and best practices in card-present transactions.
What You Bring
-
2+ years of experience in a payments-related or POS support role.
-
Deep understanding of in-person payment ecosystems, including hardware and software integrations.

Strong technical skills with POS systems, payment gateways, and payment terminals (e.g., countertop and mobile).

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve issues.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support and train non-technical users.

PCI Professional (PCIP) or other relevant certifications, are a plus.
