The Vacancy

SES Engineering Services, a leading Tier 1 Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) contractor, is seeking an exceptional leader as Regional Managing Director for our Northern Business, covering the North West, North East, Yorkshire, and Scotland. This is a high-impact role with strategic influence across some of our critical regions.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Executive SES Managing Director, the Regional Managing Director will lead the strategic and operational functions of the SES Northern region. This role requires a visionary leader with a proven ability to drive business growth, enhance team performance, and optimise operational efficiency. The Regional Managing Director will collaborate closely with senior management to develop and execute strategies that align with the company's overall goals, ensuring exceptional service delivery to clients.

The role involves working with cross-functional teams, including customer strategy, marketing, product development, commercial, pre-construction, and operations, to ensure that customer strategies are integrated and aligned with business objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Develop and execute the regional business strategy, aligning with the company's vision to ensure sustainable growth and profitability.
  2. Oversee daily operations, manage financial performance, and optimise resources to meet operational and budgetary targets.
  3. Lead and mentor high-performing teams, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement, while cultivating strong client and stakeholder relationships.
  4. Monitor market trends, identify growth opportunities, and collaborate with other regional leaders and functions to ensure alignment and synergy across the organisation.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and drive business performance.

Exceptional leadership and people management abilities are essential, along with a proven track record of building and developing high-performing teams. Strong financial acumen, experience managing budgets and financial reporting, and excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills are required. Proficiency in business management software and Microsoft Office is essential. The candidate should also be committed to promoting SES culture and values, empowering staff, and ensuring engagement and success.
