Summary
This role provides coordination between departments to ensure compliance with user-department specifications and regulatory requirements for assigned capital projects. It also manages staff and contracts related to construction management and design services. Additionally, the role formulates technical solutions, establishes project schedules and budgets, and prepares status reports and presentations.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Provides inter-departmental coordination to ensure that assigned capital project(s) is(are) being built in compliance with the affected user-department specifications while maintaining the overall project objectives.
Provides inter-agency coordination to ensure that assigned capital project(s) is(are) designed and constructed in compliance with the guidelines and requirements of federal, state, regional and municipal regulatory agencies.
Manages assigned staff in construction management and construction activities for assigned capital project(s).
Manages design and construction services contracts for assigned capital project(s).
Formulates technical solutions to satisfy project objectives for assigned capital project(s) with new or established engineering applications.
Establishes and maintains project schedules for assigned capital project(s).
Establishes and maintains project budgets. Prepares status reports, updates and presentations.
This Position Supervises:
Program Manager
Education, Experience, and Qualifications/Knowledge & Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Planning or related field.
Nine years of progressively responsible experience in planning, design or construction of public transportation capital projects or railroad improvement projects.
A master's degree preferred in Engineering, Planning, or related field can substitute for two (2) years of experience.
