Job Title: Senior R&D Engineer

Job Description

The Senior Engineer, Disposables R&D will support sustaining initiatives for disposable medical devices. This role focuses on advancing the development of innovative medical products, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Support sustaining initiatives for disposable medical devices.

  • Apply working knowledge of plastics materials and processing techniques such as injection molding, extrusion, ultrasonic welding, UV/solvent bonding, and sterilization.

  • Utilize CAD and PDM enterprise software, including Creo and Solidworks.

  • Ensure adherence to FDA Design Controls and ISO Quality Management Systems.

  • Implement ANSI/AAMI/ISO standards for risk management in medical devices.

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to drive project success.

  • Take initiative to learn, innovate, and implement best practices and continuous improvements.

    Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Plastics, Biomedical Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.

  • 3-5 years of related experience in Class II or Class III disposables medical products.

  • Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) training or certification is preferred.

  • Strong collaboration, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Attention to detail, organized, and capable of independently managing multiple priorities.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of FDA Design Controls and ISO Quality Management Systems.

  • Experience with ANSI/AAMI/ISO standards for medical device risk management.

  • High aptitude for learning and innovation.

  • Proficiency in CAD and PDM enterprise software such as Creo and Solidworks.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $88000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
