WSP is currently initiating a search for a Signal Timing Engineer!
This position will work out of our Tampa, FL office.
Some of the high-level responsibilities include:
Develop, integrate, and fine-tune signal timing changes.
Provide supervision and directions for signal operational modifications.
Conduct field reviews when it is necessary to evaluate traffic operation issues as well as to resolve signal operation issues.
Ensure signal operation modifications are signed and sealed and properly documented in accordance with client policies and guidelines.
Prepare system performance reports.
Assist WSP’s signal timing team with signal/system retiming efforts.
Assist in reporting results and effects of signal retiming efforts.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduated from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in Civil Engineering.
Professional Engineering license in the state of Florida.
Minimum 2 years of experience with Traffic Signal Operation, signal retiming and Traffic Signal Central Systems
Knowledge and understanding of traffic signal systems, traffic controller operation, Signal Central Systems, ITS and traffic engineering principles.
Knowledge of traffic signal analysis programs, such as SYNCHRO, HCS, etc.
The Signal Timing Engineer should have at the minimum, the following:
Good leadership and interpersonal skills.
Good communication skills and ability to work as a team member.
Ability to make independent decisions on a routine basis.
Ability to work alternate work schedules.
Ability to write technical reports and correspondence.
Ability to coordinate real time activities and priorities.
