We are seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our finance team. This role will provide essential support to the Controller in managing the organization’s financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance activities. The Assistant Controller will also have the opportunity to lead certain accounting functions, drive process improvements, and contribute to the overall financial strategy of Our Home.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes by ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
- Review balance sheet reconciliations and month end flux analysis.
- Coordinate with external auditors during audits and assist with other financial reviews as necessary.
- Oversee and mentor accounting staff in their daily activities, providing guidance and training as needed.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of accounting policies, internal controls and best practices to enhance efficiency.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Assist in ERP/accounting system upgrades and process improvement initiatives.
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to continuously learn and develop professionally.
- Active CPA license preferred
- Ability to travel up to 10%
