Position: Director of Identity and Access Management

We are seeking a Senior Director of Access & Identity Services to lead enterprise-wide identity and access management (IAM) strategy. This leadership role will oversee the implementation of key IAM technologies to ensure secure and efficient user access across systems and platforms. Reporting to the VP of Enterprise Architecture, the Senior Director will develop and manage IAM requirements, strategies, governance policies, and procedures.

This role involves close collaboration with internal stakeholders across all levels as well as external partners, vendors, and customers. The ideal candidate will drive innovation and risk reduction while enhancing operational efficiency and user experience.

This is a hybrid position based in Scottsdale, AZ, requiring three days onsite and two remote workdays each week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of IAM professionals; responsible for hiring, training, and performance management.
• Establish and maintain a comprehensive enterprise IAM strategy, standards, and architecture aligned with business goals.
• Oversee IAM capabilities such as user provisioning, lifecycle management, SSO, conditional access, and password management.
• Ensure secure and efficient identity management across cloud and on-prem environments.
• Collaborate with IT, legal, compliance, audit, and business units to define and execute IAM requirements.
• Manage departmental budget; prioritize security investments in alignment with risk and business objectives.
• Monitor operational performance metrics and deliver continuous process improvements.
• Enforce adherence to change control processes and ensure the protection of sensitive data through robust access controls.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices; represent the organization in relevant professional forums.

Qualifications:

Education & Knowledge:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field required.
• In-depth understanding of IAM technologies, requirements, and their integration into broader enterprise architecture.
• Strong background in both on-prem and cloud IAM services (e.g., Microsoft IAM, Azure AD, federation, SSO, PAM, MDM).
• Experience operating in highly regulated industries and managing IAM within those frameworks.

Experience:

• 10+ years in information security, systems engineering, or networking.
• 5+ years managing IAM programs in large enterprise environments.
• 5+ years in a director-level role or higher with team leadership responsibilities.
• Proven success with enterprise IAM implementations, including provisioning, entitlement management, access certifications, and multi-factor authentication.
• Experience with cloud IAM platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) strongly preferred.

• High level of integrity and the ability to manage confidential information.
• Proficient in leading diverse technical teams, managing budgets, and aligning IAM strategy with business goals.
• Able to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
