Role Overview
The Employee Relations Manager for the EMEA region serves as the primary liaison between employees and the organization, ensuring compliance with local employment laws, fostering positive employee relations, and supporting HR operations across multiple EMEA countries including the Poland, Serbia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Morocco and the Netherlands. This role reports directly to Head of HR and collaborates closely with Operations, Payroll, HR Business Partners, HR Operations team and other ERMs globally to align on compliance frameworks and HR initiatives. The ERM also plays a key role in training, policy enforcement, and strategic HR projects tailored to the EMEA context.
Key Responsibilities
- Regional Employee Relations & Compliance: Act as the main point of contact for employee relations in EMEA, ensuring compliance with country-specific labor laws.
- Strategic HR Partnership: Collaborate with HRBPs to support business changes and act as a strategic partner in implementing regional HR strategies.
- Case Management: Provide guidance on complex employee relations issues, including sick leave, terminations, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans (PIPs). Conduct investigations and ensure adherence to regional procedures.
- Training & Development: Deliver training to managers on HR compliance topics such as contract non-extension, authorized separations, and local statutory requirements.
- HR Lifecycle Support: Partner with HR Operations to ensure smooth execution of onboarding, offboarding, and data management processes, including Zendesk ticketing and SAP workflows.
- Cross-Regional Collaboration: Share best practices with ERMs in APAC and AMER to maintain consistency in HR initiatives and compliance standards.
- Metrics & Reporting: Monitor employee relations trends and develop proactive strategies based on data insights, including SLA performance tracking and attrition analysis.
- Project Participation: Lead or contribute to different strategic HR projects.
Candidate Profile
- Location: Must be based in Poland, Serbia, Portugal, Bosnia & Herzegovina or North Macedonia.
- Languages: Fluency in English is required, verbal and written plus local languages.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or related field. A Master’s degree such as an MBA is a plus.
- A team player with strong EQ, empathy and work ethics.
Experience
- 3 plus years in employee relations or a similar HR role.
- Strong understanding of employment law and compliance in EMEA countries.
- Experience in fast-paced environments preferably tech or BPO sectors.
- Extensive experience engaging with stakeholders and being an effective team player.
- Demonstrated strong understanding of the APAC employment law and regulatory frameworks.
- Demonstrated policy and procedure development and enforcement to ensure compliance.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities and the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Expertise in managing complex projects.
- Experience in AI and automation projects.
- Experience in managing complex projects accross different countries in a remote setup.
