The successful candidate will support a variety of education-related contracting needs and collaborate closely with client stakeholders in academic and technology-driven environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate education-related agreements, including service agreements, licensing agreements, affiliation agreements, research collaboration agreements, and technology licensing agreements.

  • Advise on contractual issues related to student data privacy, IP rights, and grant funding.

  • Collaborate with education administrators, academic departments, and technology providers to align contractual terms with institutional goals and compliance obligations.

  • Support procurement and operational teams in high-volume contract workflows for education services and technology solutions.

  • Assist in template management, contract process improvements, and potentially support CLM system implementation.

  • Stay up to date on regulatory requirements affecting the education sector, including FERPA and other relevant laws.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • JD or equivalent, with active bar membership in good standing.

  • 2–5 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in-house or with law firm clients in higher education, EdTech, or related industries.

  • Demonstrated experience drafting and negotiating agreements for universities, colleges, or education technology providers.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work across diverse stakeholders.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with grant agreements or research collaborations involving multiple institutions.

  • Familiarity with student data privacy regulations and education-specific compliance requirements.

  • Exposure to technology licensing and software agreements in the education context.

  • Experience supporting both domestic and international education agreements.
