Job Description
The Finance Manager is responsible for managing the development, implementation and production of Financial Partners Credit Union's finance processes and systems, and the analysts supporting these functions. Assists the CFO and VP, Finance in financially analyzing FPCU's business activities as well as developing new financial tools, financial models, and business cases. The individual is also responsible for cash and liquidity management including monitoring cash balances and cash flows.
This position requires advanced knowledge of financial analysis and planning. Must be familiar with a variety of Financial Institution financial concepts, practices, and procedures, including Balance Sheet Risk Management (interest rate risk, duration risk, credit risk), Profitability and Funds Transfer Pricing, Loan Analytics, and Asset Liability Management. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate and manage the production of FPCU's financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and annual business plan processes.
Develop, implement, maintain, and recommend enhancements to ALM systems and processes, forecasting tools and processes, and annual budgeting systems and processes.
Responsible for the production of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports for management, ALM/RM, and Finance.
Provide financial data to support recommended actions in accordance with the credit union's strategic plan.
Prepare annual corporate budget in support of the strategic plan.
Create financial models and analyses of financial and operational metrics to evaluate and direct business performance.
Performs and provides financial analysis on a variety of operational processes to create future operational plans and forecasts.
Provide Asset/Liability analysis and financial simulations on a monthly/quarterly basis.
Analyze complex financial information to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision-making purposes.
Supporting Senior Management Team and Departments heads with in-depth analysis.
Develops and implements cash management operational strategies and continuously improves treasury operations.
Manage team of financial analysts including work output, work quality, and meeting scheduled deadlines.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY:
Six years of relevant finance experience at a senior level
Demonstrated ability to apply broad concepts to highly technical applications.
Ability to develop highly dynamic PC-based financial models.
Demonstrated understanding of Asset Liability Management modeling and its implications both from a compliance and product development standpoint.
Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to lead multi-departmental project teams.
Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
Demonstrated ability to draw "big-picture" trends and meaningful conclusions from an immense array of detailed data.
Demonstrated ability to successfully interact with, and elicit cooperation from a diverse array of departments and functional areas.
High degree of PC literacy, including spreadsheet and database applications.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Thorough understanding of accounting fundamentals, budgeting and financial analysis, and ALM modeling as demonstrated by appropriate degree and/or experience.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree (B.A. /B.S.) from four-year college or university; or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Masters degree preferred.
PC proficient including Microsoft Excel and Word.
Must have mathematical/analytical skills.
Investment training, modeling and forecast training, asset/liability management skills and budget preparation skills.
CUNA Model Management budgeting software, Sendero-Funds Transfer Pricing System preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
In addition to the education requirement, the following is strongly recommended: CFA or College degree in Finance/Accounting
The pay range for this position is listed above. Our pay ranges are designed to allow for candidates with various levels of experience and skill to be considered, and to allow room for growth to be achieved in a role over time. Generally, new hire salary offers fall within the minimum to midpoint of a pay range for many candidates. Any offer extended to a candidate will be based upon their individual combination of experience, knowledge, skills, and education as well as internal equity.
