We are looking for a talented Principal Technical Program Manager to help us develop state-of-the-art LLMs within Amazon Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) that excel at leveraging a broad range of information to power AI applications across Amazon.
What will you do? As a Principal Technical Program Manager, you will be responsible for identifying, scoping, and delivering end to end projects. You will be comfortable working across science and engineering disciplines, time zones, and partner organizations. You are able to dive deep into technical challenges to help guide the team to focus on the most critical problems, escalating issues when needed. You thrive in high-ambiguity situations, building consensus and driving teams towards results. You will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. An ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces to deliver them in a successful and timely manner. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent and leadership are essential to success in this role.
We’re seeking a Principal Technical Program Manager who is passionate about leading our strategic and complex technical programs through the entire software development life cycle. As a Principal Technical Program Manager, you will work across multiple organizations to deliver delightful and innovative experiences for customers, ensuring high quality feature launches that meet organization-wide goals. You'll translate ambitious business vision into technical realities while mentoring other Technical Program Managers and setting program management standards across the organization.
Key job responsibilities
As a Principal Technical Program Manager you will:
• Architect and drive technical programs that innovate the customer's journey on AGI
• Lead as a strategic bridge between executive leadership, product vision, and technical execution
• Pioneer innovative program management approaches that become best practices across the organization
• Orchestrate complex technical decisions across multiple organizations, balancing speed, quality, and developer experience
• Transform high-level business strategies into clear, actionable technical roadmaps that inspire and align multiple organizations
• Navigate complex organizational dynamics to remove barriers and drive consensus
• Anticipate and mitigate risks before they impact deliverables through strategic planning and proactive problem-solving
• Mentor other Technical Program Managers while establishing program management standards
• Drive architectural and integration decisions that balance immediate needs with long-term technical vision
Basic Qualifications
10+ years of engineering experience
7+ years of technical product or program management experience
5+ years of software development experience
Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
Preferred Qualifications
8+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience
Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $159,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
