Description
As a Technical Program Manager for Hardware Engineering Services Configuration Management you will drive quality BOMs, refine processes, and grow the capabilities of current systems, driving continuous improvement to meet our needs as a developer of a world class cloud computing service provider. You will be responsible for seamless, rapid and global management of components, BOMs, documents, and other product data, critical for supporting business strategies and supply chain requirements. This position will also serve to promote best practices and internal business processes with relation to change management and general PLM functions. We are looking for an individual who is responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment. You must be motivated to work in a data driven environment, have a desire to drive process improvement, and long for the opportunity to analyze systematic issues and implement solutions to challenging problems.

Key job responsibilities
The Technical Infrastructure Program Manager primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Collaborate with Supply Chain, Engineering, Program Management, Product Manager’s, Suppliers, and other supporting functions in order to accurately structure new products and document product changes as part of the product development, continuous improvement, and sustaining engineering processes
Act as an advocate of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) best practices, methods, and processes
Own data quality and drive bar raising activities to assure data quality.
Interface with all key internal customers and external customers in order to accurately process changes and structure new products.
Develop and execute projects plans and provide communication to managers and peers
Develop user training materials and standard operation procedures
Drive timely part setup, BOM releases, BOM changes to support new product introduction (NPI) as well as sustaining business
Document the Business processes related to PLM Functions, Configuration & Change Management procedures.
Identify the automation opportunities to avoid repetitive manual works related to Configuration, Change & BOM management process & work with PLM Development team to implement the automation solution.
Analyze and interpret large volumes of historical business data for specific industry instances and broader trends; design, develop and evaluate highly innovative models for business management; work closely with software engineering teams to drive real time model implementations and new feature creation;
Refine processes and grow the capabilities of PLM and downstream systems, driving continuous improvement to meet our needs as a developer of a world class cloud computing service provider.
Participate in continuous process improvements focused on systems, reporting, and data analysis efficiencies
Work with internal customers to translate their needs into software requirements, and drive consensus on requirements across multiple groups.
Work closely with Development Managers to translate product plans into engineering plans
Basic Qualifications
3+ years of technical product or program management experience
2+ years of software development experience
3+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
3+ years experience and knowledge of best practices and emerging technologies, related to compute / server / network / storage products.
3+ years of experience in Technical Product, Program Management or Configuration Management in a development/PLM capacity
3+ years’ experience in creating and managing BOM’s in high tech or engineering environments
Demonstrated understanding of BOM hierarchy, including hardware and software components
Demonstrated understanding of product release cycle as it relates to the creation and change management of parts and BOM structures
Demonstrated knowledge and skills working in product lifecycle management applications such as Agile, or comparable PLM tool
Team player with strong English written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with diverse internal and external customer groups
Experience creating and managing bill of materials in a PLM system
Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
Prior working experience analyzing data / creating metrics
Prior working experience with a Hardware Development Team.
Prior working experience with a Software Development Team.
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
BS degree in a technical or business related degree
Proven experience with PLM tool
Direct experience in process documentation/improvement
Proven ability to work with and influence peers and management and facilitate agreement among stakeholders with different interests
Proven track record of complex and creative problem solving and the desire to create and build new processes ·
Experience creating and managing bill of materials in a PLM system
Track record of successfully delivering programs on time, to scope, with high quality
Experience working with AWS technologies
Experience with PLM tools
Experience with Atlassian tools
SQL experience
Experience managing external vendors
CI/CD experience
Experience with Scrum based development

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $197,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
