What You’ll Do

Strategic Planning & Vision

  • Set and execute long-term strategic vision for business systems and operations with the ability to look ahead 3+ years and identify areas of greatest need
  • Develop a comprehensive strategy and roadmap to guide posture, ensuring alignment with business objectives and growth plans
  • Work closely with Finance to support and optimize their workflows, processes, and rigorous quality standards
  • Leverage strategic tools, processes, and partnerships to maximize effectiveness and efficiency across all technology initiatives
  • Provide vision and leadership required to effectively meet and anticipate our evolving business needs

 

Executive Leadership & Collaboration

  • Operate as an evangelist internally and externally to develop, maintain, and enhance relationships that support technology and security initiatives
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to ensure business systems considerations are embedded into all digital and business initiatives
  • Develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships to influence policy, standards, programs, and capabilities across the organization
  • Lead investments to enhance brand reputation, customer trust, strategic positioning, and business operations within areas of responsibility
  • Provide regular and meaningful reporting to executive leadership on risks, technology performance, roadmap, and overall posture within areas of responsibility

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a highly qualified team of technology professionals, including direct management of the Director of Business Systems Operations
  • Communicate with, inspire, and motivate staff at all levels while managing business and domain stakeholders effectively
  • Develop future leaders through guidance, mentoring, and formal training opportunities
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and security consciousness throughout the technology organization
  • Demonstrate exceptional leadership and motivational skills with clear communication, vision, and focus on achieving strategic goals

AI & Innovation Leadership

  • Champion AI-driven innovation initiatives across business systems and operations
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, AI trends, and their potential impact on business operations and competitive advantage
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities for AI and automation to enhance user experience, operational efficiency, and business capabilities
  • Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering teams to integrate cutting-edge technologies into business systems strategy

What You’ll Bring

Sprout Social is seeking a Vice President of Business Systems & Information Technology to lead our enterprise technology strategy and operations. This executive role will oversee our Business Systems team and drive the strategic vision for all business systems. This includes Netsuite, Salesforce, Coupa, and additional tooling in support of the accounting, billing, and broader finance teams. The VP will be responsible for ensuring our technology scales with business growth while maintaining the highest standards of security, compliance, and operational excellence.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in business systems, IT operations, financial service delivery, or related fields
  • 5+ years in senior leadership roles with demonstrated success in strategic planning and team management
  • Strong understanding of enterprise Sales, Finance, and IT operations and related technologies
  • Proven experience in developing and executing technology strategy, system implementations, and large-scale deployments
  • Experience with budget management, vendor relationships, and technology procurement processes

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (MBA, MS in Information Systems, or related field)
  • Software engineering background and/or technical depth
  • Experience in SaaS or high-growth technology companies
  • Experience with early AI/ML technologies and their business applications 
  • Track record of successfully leading digital transformation initiatives

How You’ll Grow

Within 1 month, you’ll plant your roots, including:

  • Complete comprehensive executive onboarding and establish relationships with key stakeholders across the organization
  • Conduct thorough assessment of current technology landscape, team capabilities, and strategic priorities
  • Align with executive peers on immediate priorities and longer-term strategic vision
  • Begin developing relationships with direct reports and key technology partners

Within 3 months, you’ll start hitting your stride by:

 

  • Establish a clear strategic roadmap for business systems initiatives
  • Complete a comprehensive risk assessment and develop mitigation strategies
  • Implement governance structures and communication cadences with the leadership team
  • Begin executing on quick wins while building a foundation for longer-term strategic initiatives

Within 6 months, you’ll be making a clear impact through:

 

  • Deliver measurable improvements in operational efficiency and customer satisfaction
  • Establish a comprehensive compliance program and security framework to better manage our audit requirements
  • Successfully lead major strategic initiative or system implementation
  • Build a high-performing team culture with clear career development paths for all team members

Sprout maintains a remote workforce in many places in the United States. Individual base pay is based on various factors, including work location, relevant experience and skills, the responsibility of the role, and job duties/requirements. In the United States, we have two geographic pay zones. You can confirm the pay zone for your specific location with your recruiter during your interview process. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:

  • Zone 1 (New York, California, Washington): $250,712 (min), $313,400 (mid), $376,068 (max) USD annually
  • Zone 2 (All other US states): $227,900 (min), $284,900 (mid), $341,900 (max) USD annually

The listed ranges represent the full earning potential in this position. Starting salaries for well-qualified new hires are typically around the midpoint of the range. These ranges were determined by a market-based compensation approach; we used data from trusted third-party compensation sources to set equitable, consistent, and competitive ranges. We also evaluate compensation bi-annually, identify any changes in the market and make adjustments to our ranges and existing employee compensation as needed.

Base pay is only one element of an employee’s total compensation at Sprout. Every Sprout team member has an opportunity to receive restricted stock units (RSUs) under Sprout’s equity plan. Employees (and their dependents) are covered by medical, dental, vision, basic life, accidental death, and dismemberment insurance, and Modern Health (a wellness benefit).  Employees are able to enroll in Sprout’s company’s 401k plan, in which Sprout will match 50% of your contributions up to 6% with a maximum contribution. Sprout offers “Flexible Paid Time Off” and ten paid holidays.
