Summary:
The AR Analyst - Credit and Collections role is responsible for providing subject matter expertise, partnering with Sales for credit and collections recommendations and performing various credit responsibilities. This role involves analyzing customer credit files, monitoring past due receivables and leading projects to improve departmental efficiencies.
A customer-facing position that manages an accounts receivable portfolio, analyzes credit and financial information to make appropriate decisions regarding credit extension and risk, and acts as a resource on credit and collection functions. This position requires strong communication skills to interact with our customers, account managers and other employees and departments by phone and email.
Key Responsibilities:
Subject Matter Expertise: Research and determine root causes of discrepancies, identifying methods to reduce future occurrences.
Collaboration: Partner with Sales to provide credit and collections recommendations, financial analysis, and modeling for new and existing customers.
Order Review: Review orders on hold and take required action within department SLAs.
Reporting: Maintain and communicate various departmental reports.
Credit Responsibilities: Perform new customer approval, financial statement analysis, and contract review regarding acceptable risk limits within assigned authority level.
Receivables Monitoring: Analyze customer credit files and monitor past due receivables within assigned authority level.
Cash Receipts Management: Analyze and monitor daily cash receipts, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers for effective collections management.
Credit Reporting: Analyze credit reports from sources such as D&B, National Food Group Management, and F&D/ARMS.
Leadership: Lead, train, and coach others in skill development.
Collections Analysis: Analyze and monitor the collection of overdue or delinquent accounts.
Project Management: Lead and/or participate in strategic or company-wide projects, understanding and managing project risks, and delivering project communications.
Daily Reporting: Lead daily tracker reporting and publication to SharePoint.
Process Improvement: Increase efficiencies through process improvements and assist with change management where applicable.
Audit Participation: Participate in all internal/external and bank audits (SOX testing) as required.
Metrics Recording: Record departmental SLAs and KPIs to show overall health of the department. Guide the team in achieving metrics through process improvement and training.
Compliance: Work closely with management on departmental documentation, internal audit controls, and review of control requirements for compliance purposes.
Continuous Improvement: Continuously identify process improvements and changes to add value to the department and company.
Required Skills and Competencies:
Advanced knowledge of SAP and FSCM Dispute Management or other ERP systems
Advanced in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Excel and Word application skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - oral and written.
This position will need to navigate through large data sets and summarize findings into management level communication.
Advanced analytical and financial modeling skills; proficiency working in Excel, SAP and PowerPoint is required.
Ability to present fact-based recommendations across various levels of management.

Possesses advanced understanding of AR functions for both Collections and Deductions Management and seen as the Subject Matter Expert.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance or Associates Degree with 5+ years of related experience
1-3 years of experience in financial analysis or related field
Experience interacting with sales and business teams preferred
