Army Business Development Director
Location: Herndon, VA (Hybrid)
Salary: From $180,000 per year
Must Have:
- Experience as an Army Business Development Director
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in Federal Government IT business development, or a minimum of 10 years in Federal Government business development and capture management
- Minimum 5 years of Army service (former Army Signal Corps preferred, but not required)
- Experience winning Army IT opportunities with key organizations such as PEO ES, CIO/G-6, CECOM, PEO IEW&S, DEVCOM, TRADOC, CASCOM, including at least three relevant IT contract wins each worth at least $50M in the last three years
- Ability to lead interdisciplinary teams
- Knowledge of Government contracting, current IT acquisition trends, and customer buying behaviors
- Understanding of the Army's emerging technological landscape
- Knowledge of Federal Government acquisition regulations, policies, and contract vehicles
- Understanding of competitors and market behaviors
- Effective communication skills at senior levels
- Willingness to travel as needed
- Bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline; an advanced degree is highly preferred
Responsibilities:
- Developing, qualifying, and capturing a pipeline of Federal Army contracts focusing on emerging technology, digital automation, and high-end IT
- Generating and closing new Army IT business opportunities in enterprise IT, cyber, software development, automation (AI, ML, RPA), and cloud
- Building and maintaining relationships with Government and industry partners
- Managing full opportunity lifecycle including identification, qualification, development, and pursuit approval
- Supporting proposal development and driving revenue beyond targets
- Conducting market assessments and leading BD activities aligned with EMG's growth markets
- Qualifying new opportunities and overseeing capture and proposal processes
- Negotiating teaming agreements and contracts
- Developing bid/no-bid recommendations and pursuit strategies
- Maintaining client relationships and gathering market intelligence
- Responding to government inquiries, attending industry events, and participating in thought leadership
- Shaping acquisition strategies leveraging company capabilities and relationships
