Job Description The Rockwell Automation University (RAU) School of Technology is a team that serves all of Rockwell Automation by building the competency level of hands-on technical resources. Roles within RAU can provide you with exciting opportunities: Exposure to different Business Units and the latest RA technology Opportunity to explore, innovate, and implement tools related to remote labs, e-Learning, video production, and more Opportunity to help influence the careers of others through programs like the Engineer in Training Program (EIT), Authorized Service Providers (ASP), Academy of Advanced Manufacturing (AAM), and our Leadership Development Program (LDP) Opportunity to support ongoing technical content development for hands-on audiences and interact with RA technical and solution consultants, field service and remote support engineers, project engineers, end-users, distributor specialists, certified system integrators, and more Working with other groups within Lifecycle Services, such as Remote Support (RSS), Global Portfolio Engineering (GPE), and Project Engineering Learning with support from network engineers to administrate and maintain the system with the opportunity to grow into more responsibility over time The Automation Lab Network Technician is responsible for managing 10+ physical labs, classrooms, and server rooms in Mayfield Heights, Ohio. You will work with RAU supervisors and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) from RAU, RSS, GPE, and more to maintain servers and other networking equipment to support training classes, ongoing development, and testing efforts. Larger projects will include hardware installation for major room upgrades. Onsite support may be required on a daily basis to help troubleshoot servers alongside remote engineers or during events including escorting students in the building, working with facilities and security, being physically present when an SME is remote, and so on. You will report to our RAU Ongoing Competency Supervisor, and be based onsite in Mayfield Heights, OH. Course & Lab Preparation Tasks: Troubleshoot hardware / software / firmware issues related to the set up Assist with re-imaging and completing initial computer setup tasks associated with new set of incoming students Copy virtual images to computers (verification to be done by SMEs) Prepare audio / visual systems, etc. Onsite Support for Running Courses / Tests / Lab Work: Provide onsite troubleshooting for physical hardware or network issues Provide troubleshooting for remote hardware labs working with the SME and virtual platform team Provide a range of onsite course support to the team - tasks may include escorting students in the building, working with facilities and security, being physically present when an SME is unavailable Larger Projects: Complete specific projects to revamp entire spaces, including the installation of new networking equipment and/or related infrastructure Troubleshoot hardware / software / firmware issues related to installation and upgrades Provide detailed documentation of updates and changes (CAD, etc.) <
