The Family & Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for building strong connections between families, the school, and the wider community. This role also oversees the effective planning and execution of afterschool programming. The ideal candidate is relationship-driven, highly organized, and committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all families.
Family & Community Engagement (K-12)
Serve as a liaison between school leadership and families, helping to communicate school updates, gather feedback, and foster trust.
Coordinate parent and classroom representatives to support family engagement events and initiatives.
Plan and lead family oriented programs, workshops, and volunteer opportunities.
Cultivate partnerships with local organizations, businesses, and service providers to bring additional resources to the school.
Title I parent engagement management (Title I record keeping)
ESL parent engagement coordination and management (title III record keeping)
Support school functions, community events, and parent meetings.
Develop a parent engagement PTO plan
Afterschool Program Coordination (K-8)
Manage daily operations of the afterschool program, clubs and enrichment programs including staff scheduling, attendance tracking, and student supervision.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and prepare for state inspections.
Coordinate snack distribution and supply inventory for afterschool programming.
Partner with Deans, teachers, and families to address student needs and behavior in after school hours.
Oversee payroll and staffing logistics for afterschool team members.
Lunch/Recess Scheduling Support (K-12)
Interim support the hiring process and onboarding for all new employees.
Coordinate with the parks department for annual field access
Requirements
Qualifications
Experience in family engagement, community outreach, youth programming, or a related field.
Proven ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders including families, staff, and external partners.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Prior experience managing after school or extended day programs is preferred.
