Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team in Tampa, Florida. This role involves managing payroll, accounts payable, and benefits administration while providing critical support to our operations. Responsibilities:
• Process payroll accurately, including collecting timesheets, setting up deductions, garnishments, and taxes, and generating quarterly payroll reports.
• Manage accounts payable by performing three-way matching, ensuring proper account coding, and coordinating approvals with project managers.
• Administer benefits by setting up employee deductions, handling open enrollment processes, and ensuring compliance with insurance reporting.
• Maintain personnel files, including onboarding new team members, processing terminations, and running E-Verify checks.
• Prepare labor reports and distribute them to project managers for job costing analysis.
• Coordinate cash flow management processes with project managers to ensure smooth operations.
• Issue physical and electronic checks for accounts payable and oversee mailing and distribution.
• Assist in HR administrative functions such as providing new employee packets and communicating benefits elections to the insurance provider.
• Perform journal entries related to payroll and other accounting tasks as required.
• Ensure compliance with COBRA and other benefits-related regulations for departing employees.

Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in bookkeeping, payroll, and benefits administration.
• Proficiency in accounts payable processes, including job costing and three-way matching.
• Basic knowledge of Excel, including the ability to use spreadsheets for tracking information.
• Familiarity with benefits administration, including open enrollment and COBRA compliance.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a respectful and low-stress environment.
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and external parties.
• Experience with accounting software is a plus but not mandatory.
