Business Developer
Job Description
We are seeking a results-driven and dynamic Business Development associate to join our team. This role will focus on identifying and developing strategic partnerships, building relationships, and driving revenue growth within the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the construction market, proven sales skills, and the ability to identify new opportunities while maintaining excellent client relationships.
General Responsibilities:
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Planning & Market Analysis
- Identify new market opportunities and evaluate potential business partnerships.
- Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve company growth goals.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to stay ahead of industry trends.
Client Acquisition & Relationship Management
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including developers, architects, engineers, and other construction partners.
- Actively pursue new client leads and establish long-term relationships.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking meetings.
Proposal Development & Negotiation
- Prepare and deliver compelling proposals and presentations to prospective clients.
- Negotiate contracts, agreements, and project scopes to meet client and company needs.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure successful project execution and client satisfaction.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with the marketing team to develop promotional strategies and materials.
- Coordinate with project managers and other departments to ensure alignment on client needs.
- Provide insights and feedback to improve company services and offerings.
Performance Tracking & Reporting
- Monitor and report on key performance metrics related to business development initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions and business activities.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Construction Management, or related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of business development or sales experience, preferably in the construction or related industry.
- Proven track record of achieving sales and revenue targets.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of the construction industry and market trends.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
- Proficiency in CRM software and MS Office Suite.
- Experience with government contracting or MWSBE programs.
- Familiarity with design-build and general contracting processes.
- Membership in industry associations (e.g., AGC, NAHB, or local construction organizations).
- Strategic thinker with the ability to execute plans effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Self-motivated, organized, and results-oriented.
- Team player with the ability to collaborate across departments.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Computer skills with an emphasis on navigating Microsoft Office programs, Google Drive, PROCORE and Buildertrend software.
- Financial and job cost knowledge.
- Bilingual preferred.
Working Conditions:

- Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
- Must be able to sustain posture in a seated position for prolonged periods.
- Staying overnight near the jobsite may be required to meet project deadlines.
