The Water Resilience Coalition (WRC)
The WRC is an industry-driven, CEO-led initiative under the CEO Water Mandate, with the Pacific Institute as its secretariat. It aims to elevate the global water crisis and climate change to the top of corporate agendas, focusing on preserving freshwater resources through collective action in 100 water-stressed basins and setting ambitious resilience goals.

About the Role
Reporting to the Pacific Institute President, Jason Morrison, and the Leadership Committee, the WRC CEO will lead the strategic vision and operational success of the coalition. This executive role requires leadership, partnership development, and strategic planning skills to advance WRC’s goals, including scaling impact, member engagement, and securing support.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the WRC 2025-2030 strategic plan (WRC 2.0).
- Engage senior executives to promote active participation and integrate water resilience into corporate strategies.
- Oversee financial sustainability, fundraising, and budget management.
- Guide governance evolution and foster cross-industry collaboration.
- Build and maintain relationships with members and partners, increasing participation and investment.
- Lead and inspire the WRC team, ensuring strategic alignment and measurable outcomes.
- Manage financials, fundraising efforts, and identify new revenue streams.
- Plan and oversee events, communications, and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Ensure WRC remains influential in global water conversations and enhances its reputation.
Minimum Requirements
- 10-15 years of senior leadership experience, preferably in business, sustainability, or strategy.
- Strong business acumen and understanding of the private sector.
- Experience in coalition-building and stakeholder engagement.
- Exceptional strategic thinking and leadership skills.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and public speaking skills.
- Proven ability to influence senior leaders and policymakers.
- Financial management proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in water management, corporate sustainability, or climate resilience.
- Knowledge of SDGs and international frameworks.
- Experience organizing international events and executive communications.
- Multilingual abilities relevant to WRC regions.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $190,000–$210,000, plus a $20,000 retention bonus after six months. Benefits include health and dental insurance, paid vacation, and a retirement plan. Salary specifics will be shared during the interview process.
