Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Position Type: Full-time - School Year Role with Summer Opportunities
Location: Fairfax, VA
Salary: This 10-month, full-time school-year position (the position renews each school year) ranges from approximately $30,000 - $39,000 annually, which breaks down to $20.55 - $25.00/hour. In addition to the salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package and other perks + additional summer opportunities above and beyond your annual salary.

What the CNA does:
Working under the supervision of the Program Supervisor, the CNA ensures students’ health, safety, and well-being throughout the school day by providing personal care assistance and medical support:
- Assist students with toileting, diapering, and hygiene while maintaining dignity and privacy.
- Support students during meals, including feeding and monitoring for dietary needs.
- Aid with mobility, including transfers, positioning, and using assistive devices (wheelchairs, walkers, braces, etc.).
- Administer medications as directed.
- Assist with hydration, dressing, and comfort measures.
- Provide support for medical procedures (e.g., gastrostomy or tracheostomy care) as trained and required.
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and staff to integrate personal care into education plans.
- Reinforce positive behaviors and help students manage emotions effectively.
- Maintain a structured routine for personal care activities to provide consistency and comfort.
- Provide updates on students’ personal care progress to families and staff.
- Ensure smooth coordination between home and school routines.
What the CNA brings to the team:
- CNA certification from a state-recognized program
- CPR & First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to safely lift and assist students (up to 50 lbs.)
- Strong collaboration, communication, and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of HIPAA, FERPA, and confidentiality requirements
- Experience in pediatric, school, or special education settings, preferred
