Key Responsibilities
Organizational Financial Design
- Provide financial guidance across all aspects of the business while embedding rigor into strategic planning
- Serve as a thought partner to the CEO and leadership team on long-term business planning and capital decisions
- Support transformation efforts across systems, processes, and operational levers to unlock new growth
Foundational Infrastructure & Controls
- Oversee finance and accounting operations with an emphasis on clarity, precision, and accountability
- Build and refine the systems and controls required to support a scaling enterprise
- Lead the implementation and evolution of tech and ERP systems that enhance visibility and improve outcomes
Operational Insight & Decision Enablement
- Drive forecasting, scenario modeling, and planning cycles that guide business decisions
- Surface risks, identify opportunities, and deliver financial insight that leads to action
- Strengthen links between financial operations and the firm’s day-to-day service delivery and client success
Team Growth & Functional Leadership
- Lead and develop a finance team that thrives on high standards, mutual trust, and shared outcomes
- Cultivate a learning culture focused on growth, adaptability, and financial stewardship
- Elevate the quality and speed of the team’s output, with an eye toward both internal excellence and external readiness
External Readiness & Financial Storytelling
- Develop investor- and board-facing materials that clearly communicate performance, priorities, and positioning
- Shape the financial narrative with insight, transparency, and strategic perspective
- Build trust across stakeholders by pairing credibility with commercial fluency
Qualifications & Experience
- A track record of leading financial functions within fast-moving, founder- or investor-backed companies
- Experience overseeing finance in a services-led or consulting-style business model
- Ability to think and act both strategically and operationally—no task too high-level or too tactical
- Strength in business planning, modeling, and scenario building to support complex decisions
- Clear communicator with a refined ability to tailor financial messages to different audiences, from boards to operators
- Familiarity with corporate development, capital strategy, or transaction execution is highly valued
- Experience operating within or advising a global business structure is preferred
- Professional grounding in accounting, finance, or economics; CPA, CFA, or MBA credentials are welcome but not required
- Based in Washington DC or open to relocation, with an in-person presence expected for executive collaboration
