Job Title: Civil Design EngineerJob Description
Join our dynamic and expanding firm as a Civil Design Engineer, where you will play a pivotal role in designing grading and elevation for medium-sized subdivisions and commercial buildings. Our firm is currently experiencing a large backlog of work across all departments, necessitating the need for a senior civil engineer to manage some of the workload. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our project manager and the President of the firm, using AutoCAD Civil 3D to create various engineering plans and store drawings electronically.
Responsibilities
Design exterior path-of-travel and frontage improvements.
Develop grading and drainage plans.
Create pavement repair assessment plans.
Prepare record drawings and site improvement plans.
Formulate utility plans and topographic surveys.
Engage in residential and commercial land development and tentative maps.
Collaborate with engineers and designers to prioritize and execute multiple projects.
Prepare construction documents for residential and commercial subdivisions and improvements.
Read and interpret construction drawings and standards.
Essential Skills
Minimum 5+ years of experience independently solving complex engineering problems within land development.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D software.
California PE license required.
Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Strong communication and team-building abilities.
Experience with construction standards and terminology.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
5 years of independent civil design experience in grading, drainage, utilities, hydrology, and site design for residential and commercial/industrial projects.
5 years of AutoCAD Civil 3D design experience in creating surfaces, profiles, cross sections, and corridor modeling.
Communication with local municipalities, consultants, and clients.
Current California Civil PE license preferred but not required.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $100000.00/hr.
