Job Description:
The Climate Analyst will join Malk's Carbon and Climate Solutions practice, delivering climate solutions to top North American private equity investors. Responsibilities include conducting carbon inventories, analyzing emissions data, developing decarbonization strategies, and supporting client proposals. The role reports to the Head of Carbon and Climate Solutions, Brian Fox, with a focus on building the private market’s premier climate services.
Responsibilities:
- Lead client engagements with Private Equity teams.
- Conduct Scope 1-3 carbon inventories using proprietary tools and public data.
- Validate data inputs and improve emissions calculation accuracy.
- Analyze emissions data to identify reduction opportunities.
- Develop decarbonization strategies aligned with SBTi targets.
- Support business growth through proposals and pitch materials.
- Serve as a carbon accounting and climate expert within the organization.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Collaborate on creating best practices for carbon workflows.
- Identify gaps in client climate strategies and develop solutions.
- Stay updated on climate regulations and industry trends.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Strong data analysis skills and experience with large datasets.
- Understanding of Scope 1-3 GHG accounting and protocols.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to work with ambiguous data.
- Team collaboration and communication skills.
- 2-3 years of experience in climate-related projects, consulting, finance, or engineering; private equity experience is a plus.
Additional Details:
- Location: New York, NY (Hybrid: Tues-Thurs in-office).
- Salary: $75K-$85K + discretionary bonus.
