Community Garden Coordinator The Town of Natick seeks a seasonal,
part-time Community Garden Coordinator to manage community gardens at various sites in Natick, develop and monitor volunteer roles, assign plots, collect and record fees and act as a liaison between the town and the community gardeners. Knowledge about organic vegetable and flower gardening and food justice, with experience leading garden-related education is essential. Ability to work independently and cultivate community partnerships required. Reliable transportation is required. This position works from the Cole Center and reports to the Assistant Director of Resource Allocation in the Recreation and Parks Division. Summary of Responsibilities: -Oversee program operations including the enforcement of garden rules. -Research and prepare community garden plan -Lead marketing and outreach efforts -Coordinate the opening and closing of the garden locations -Coordinate the application process and assignment of beds annually -Document activities at each location through photos, testimonials and activity logs. -Support gardeners by answering questions and providing resources -Identify resources to sustain community garden locations -Document activities through photographs, testimonials and activity logs Physical Demands: -Ability to walk, bend, stoop, lift and carry heavy objects in and around each garden location. -Work is performed outdoors in varied weather conditions. Education, Experience & Skill or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience: -Bachelor\'s degree in agriculture, nutrition, environmental science or related field. -Two (2) or more years experience in community gardening, environmental service projects, community engagement or community education. -Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and email. -A valid driver\'s license and relibale transportation are required to travel to and from community garderns. This position is a seasonal part-time position during the growing season. Ten (10) hours a week, split into two days. Afternoons are preferred so that you can interact with the gardeners. (Example: Monday/Wednesdays or Tuesday/Thursday) Pay is \$24.00/hour and does not include any benefits.
