POLITICO is seeking an experienced Senior Compensation Analyst to oversee and enhance our compensation strategies across our North America operations.
Based in Arlington, VA, this role will be critical in ensuring our practices align with local labor laws, market trends, and organizational objectives, supporting talent attraction, retention, and engagement. The Consultant will provide strategic and operational expertise in designing, implementing, and evaluating compensation programs to ensure competitive positioning across North America.
What You'll Do:
- Design, implement, and manage compensation structures, including salary benchmarking, job grading, and pay scales in coordination with EU operations.
- Conduct market analyses to maintain competitiveness in attracting and retaining talent.
- Manage annual salary reviews, merit increases, and bonus plans.
- Ensure compliance with local and regional labor laws, including minimum wages, pay equity, and reporting requirements.
- Maintain and update compensation policies aligned with best practices and organizational goals.
- Serve as the primary contact for audits, regulatory filings, and internal reviews related to compensation.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and leadership to align compensation with business strategies.
- Guide managers and employees on compensation policies and issues.
- Develop and deliver training and communication materials regarding compensation programs.
- Streamline compensation processes and improve reporting and analytics using HRIS and other tools.
- Prepare reports and presentations with recommendations for program improvements.
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field; Master’s preferred.
- 3-5+ years of experience in compensation, focusing on US markets.
- Strong knowledge of US labor laws and regulations.
- Experience with salary benchmarking tools (e.g., Mercer, Korn Ferry, Radford).
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Compensation and Benefits (e.g., CCP, GRP).
- Experience with Workday or similar HRIS platforms.
- Background in media, publishing, or related industries.
