Job Description
Position Summary: The Electrical Construction Manager will work within the Construction Management department and report to the Electrical Project Manager. They will collaborate with design professionals, clients, subcontractors, and craftspeople to resolve complex electrical coordination issues. The manager will oversee the Electrical Team and lead onsite electrical quality control, including document review during preconstruction through commissioning and punchlist. This position is based at the project site in Sunnyvale, CA.
Salary Range:
$118,000 - $160,500 annually DOE
Essential Responsibilities
- Oversee daily electrical subcontractor and vendor installation work, ensuring adherence to schedules, supporting system startup, and commissioning activities.
- Coordinate between Area Construction Managers and subcontractors for mechanical and electrical system startups.
- Verify documentation, equipment readiness, and safety for startup.
- Coordinate MEP systems with civil, architectural, and structural elements.
- Organize and facilitate training for clients' personnel on MEP systems operation and maintenance.
- Lead startup meetings with relevant stakeholders to coordinate MEP system startup activities.
- Review project submittal information for accuracy and functionality.
- Manage RFIs and change documents.
- Conduct field surveys of control lines and benchmarks.
- Serve as the technical advisor onsite.
- Assist in estimating electrical budgets and staffing.
- Manage electrical subcontractor contracts and procurement.
Qualifications
Position-Related Skills
- Experience in cleanroom environments.
- Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office 365.
- Experience with project management software like Prolog, Procore, E-Builder, Bluebeam, MS Project, Primavera P6.
- Experience with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks.
- Training in construction document reading, specifications, survey techniques.
- Knowledge of CSI specifications and low voltage electrical construction.
- Strong visual and interpretative skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, especially under pressure.
- Flexible work schedule for extended hours or shifts.
Experience and Education
- Minimum 5 years electrical construction experience.
- Experience in industrial or high-tech semiconductor projects, especially in live facilities.
- LEED accreditation or ability to obtain within 18 months preferred.
- High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Physical and Mental Requirements
- Ability to perform physical activities including climbing, lifting, and working in confined spaces.
- Visual and auditory acuity for detailed work and communication.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various physical positions.
- Use of independent judgment and organizational skills for problem-solving.
