Palmer Staffing is seeking a Contract Attorney (Corporate & Postal Business Law Section) with a federal agency in DC. Must be able to pass a criminal background check which includes fingerprints, background questionnaire, drug test, and Inspection Service clearance (this process takes about 4 weeks to complete). This project is expected to start mid-late March to December 2025, with the possibility of extension. In-person interviews will take place asap. This position is working on-site Monday through Friday. 40 hours a week. The office is located at the L’Enfant Plaza Metro Station.
Status: $30/hour (no overtime unless supervisor approved)
Salary: Temporary Contract
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare contracts (as well as modifications) with customers for customized rates for parcel/express services primarily using predetermined templates.
- Where necessary, work with counterparties to negotiate clauses for customized rate agreements.
- Collaborate with nonlegal staff involved in contract generation to review clauses.
- Collaborate with sales force to develop contract templates.
- Coordinate with the Office of General Counsel on regulatory filings.
- Ensure satisfaction of regulatory requirements for contract clauses.
Job Requirements:
- JD Degree – an active member of the bar.
- Excellent writing skills. Experience with contract drafting is a plus but not required.
