About the team
Corporate Accounting focuses on running a fast, accurate, and efficient close process while ensuring compliance, scalability, and continuous improvement. We are building the financial foundations to support Canva’s growth and long-term success. Our team leverages automation, technology, and AI to make accounting smarter and more efficient, playing a key role in maintaining accurate, timely, and reliable financials as Canva grows. We also partner with various teams to simplify financial processes and provide insights for better decision-making.
About The Role
We seek a Corporate Accounting Manager to help scale and improve our accounting operations. You will manage key accounting processes, support financial close, and drive efficiency through automation and continuous improvement. This role involves owning core accounting responsibilities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, and working cross-functionally to simplify financial processes. It's ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and loves finding smarter ways to work.
What You’ll Do
- Own key accounting processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with GAAP and global standards.
- Enhance internal controls and SOX compliance, maintaining financial accuracy and integrity.
- Implement automation, AI, and new technology to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Drive process improvements to make financial operations faster, smoother, and scalable.
- Partner with teams across Canva to simplify processes, provide insights, and improve financial understanding.
- Support audits and regulatory requirements, collaborating with external auditors and internal teams.
Qualifications
We are looking for a strategic, hands-on accounting manager who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys building scalable financial processes. You should be a problem solver, embrace change, work well cross-functionally, and be passionate about simplifying complex tasks.
- Experience in corporate accounting, financial reporting, and operational finance, preferably in a high-growth or public company.
- CPA certification
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, SOX compliance, and internal controls.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to optimize processes.
- Excellent communication skills to simplify complex financial concepts.
- Passion for automation, technology, and workflow improvements.
- Experience with ERP systems (bonus for NetSuite).
