Software Developer – Hedge Fund (NYC, Onsite)

A multi-manager hedge fund in Midtown Manhattan is looking for a backend-focused Software Developer to support its operations, finance, and risk teams. This is an onsite role with direct exposure to senior leadership and high-impact work across the firm.
Responsibilities:
- Improve and maintain internal software systems
- Build tools to streamline workflows across non-technical teams
- Manage cloud infrastructure (AWS) and containerized apps (Docker/ECS)
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, finance, and risk
- Write clean, efficient Python code and develop internal APIs
Requirements:
- 3+ years of Python development experience in financial services/hedge fund
- Experience with AWS, Docker, ECS, Terraform
- Strong SQL (Postgres) and familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB)
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-ownership environments
- Bachelor's from Top-Tier School
Nice to Have:
- Django, Redis, Celery, or Dash
- Exposure to infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines
