Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Digital Strategist will serve as the lead content partner for academics.charlotte.edu, supporting colleges and departments in planning, organizing, and optimizing academic web content. This role requires a strong understanding of how structured content functions across enterprise CMS platforms, guiding units through content migration, user experience improvements, and consistent digital storytelling.
Serve as the lead content partner for academics.charlotte.edu, helping colleges and departments plan, organize, and maintain clear, consistent academic web content.
Guide academic units through content migration, structured content updates, and digital storytelling that supports prospective student engagement.
Define site goals and map academic content to user journeys, ensuring alignment with UNC Charlotte's brand voice, accessibility standards, and centralized information architecture.
Apply UX best practices, user behavior data, and feedback from design and development teams to improve content clarity and site usability.
Play a key role in UNC Charlotte's multi-phase website redesign, supporting stakeholder transitions, phased content rollouts, and long-term governance for academic web properties.
Minimum Experience / Education:
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
University Preferred Qualifications:
Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in a closely related field and two years of experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed in the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in communications, digital media, UX, information science, or a related field
3+ years of experience managing content in WordPress, Drupal, or other enterprise-level CMS platforms
Familiarity with CMS workflows, custom templates, and basic HTML / CSS
Strong understanding of UX principles, accessibility standards ( WCAG ), and mobile-first design
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience managing web projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams
Experience in higher education, nonprofit, or large organizational settings
Familiarity with web governance models and centralized digital frameworks
Experience with tools like Google Analytics, Siteimprove, and Google Tag Manager
Ability to work in an agile, fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
A strong, collaborative, and communicative work style.
Experience using Monday.com or other project management software is preferred.
Experience using Google Analytics/GA4. GTM and Google Search Console are a plus.
Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud.
