Director, Government Relations (Finance)
We are seeking a Director of Government Relations to develop and manage a comprehensive state and local government affairs campaign for Honeywell and Advanced Materials.
This position will be based in Washington, DC, at Honeywell's Global Government Relations headquarters, operating on a hybrid work schedule. The role requires frequent travel (up to 50%) within the supporting region and other key State Capitals, as needed.
The Director of State and Local Government Relations will drive the adoption of legislation supporting Honeywell's products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage multi-state legislative campaigns
- Coordinate a cross-functional team spanning legal, commercial, communications, regulatory, R&D, product stewardship, and sales functions, as well as outside public affairs consultants
- Represent the company before various administrative, regulatory, legislative, and executive levels of state government, and in some cases, local jurisdictions
- Identify, analyze, and report on business, legislative, and regulatory issues that could impact the company, and recommend and manage courses of action
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with regulators, elected officials, civil servants, and other key stakeholders
- Develop and collaborate on high-quality written recommendations, briefings, publications, presentations, and other collateral to communicate complex messages clearly to government stakeholders
- Coordinate strategy with consultants and trade association representatives to ensure active engagement and alignment with business strategies
- Organize and lead communication with Honeywell senior leadership, including meetings, briefings, and campaign reviews
- Participate in and assume leadership roles in industry-related associations, steering committees, and networking organizations to protect and promote company interests
The annual base salary range for this position is $206K - $257.5K. Please note that this is a general guideline, and Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and market considerations.
In October 2024, Honeywell announced the spin-off of our Advanced Materials business to become a stand-alone publicly traded company, independent of Honeywell. This role, dedicated to the Advanced Materials business, is expected to be part of this future transaction when the separation occurs.
This position is intended to be conveyed to the new, independent company, Solstice Advanced Materials, when the separation occurs, expected in late 2025 or early 2026.
