Job Summary:
In addition to the responsibilities listed below, this director level position is responsible for developing, coordinating and leading overseeing executive protection operations throughout assigned area(s) of the the organization in alignment with the Shared Service Model and service-level agreement between National Security Services and the office of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This includes coordinating the triage and response to emergent requests for protective services through organizing assets for immediate operational deployment.
This position is also responsible for building and maintaining close working relationships with satellite FBI and other federal intelligence agency contacts and auxiliary protective service providers; managing the organizations Executive Protection-focused consultant and contractor partnerships; and working to expand capabilities to fulfill emergent requests within each operational region in a timely manner. This includes overseeing day-today executive protective services for select executives or at-risk staff; serving as incident or operational commander during high-visibility or complex executive protection operations; and building and optimizing processes for information flow, service requests, and event planning.
Essential Responsibilities:

Oversees the operation of multiple units within a department by identifying member and operational needs; ensures the management of work assignment completion; translates business strategy into actionable business requirements; ensures products and/or services meet member requirements and expectations while aligning with organizational strategies. Gains cross-functional support for business plans and priorities; assumes responsibility for decision making; sets standards, measures progress, and fosters resolution of escalated issues. Communicates goals and objectives; analyzes resources, costs, and forecasts and incorporates them into business plans; prioritizes and distributes resources. Removes obstacles that impact performance; guides performance and develops contingency plans accordingly; ensures teams accomplish business objectives.
Supports facility access control plan by: developing guidelines for facilities access control, including key control, ID badge management, locking and unlocking doors, providing emergency and afterhours access as appropriate, providing escorts to sensitive areas, traffic control, and vendor/patient/visitor/personnel access management; and working with leadership to promote accountability for compliance with access control plan.
Complies with safety and security policies and procedures by: using expert knowledge of safety and security laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards to develop security strategies and concepts and champion the dissemination and implementation of the strategies and concepts; developing and leading training programs for security staff, employees, and physicians; driving a culture of continuous improvement and ensuring department policies are updated, as needed; and influencing and developing standards and holding Security managers accountable for appropriate application of knowledge and skills learned through training.
Develops strategy for security and threat incident response by: maintaining general awareness of all current emergencies, disasters, and other incidents at facilities, with consideration for their impact and severity, driving communication across teams; influencing strategy and holding teams accountable for appropriate and effective response to emergencies, disasters, burglaries, and uncooperative or combative individuals; developing selected strategies for emergency response (e.g., lockdown procedures), based on the known risks; developing and leading incident response training programs for security staff, employees, and physicians; overseeing security incident investigations; using advanced subject matter expertise to oversee improvements based on security incident analyses; orchestrating efforts to compile information on potential internal and external threats and facilitating strategic planning to minimize threats with local Threat Management Team; and gathering, reviewing, and disseminating internal and external safety/threat related intelligence to facilitate improvements in incident response.
Monitors and prevents security incidents by: planning, developing, and implementing strategic, large-scale, region-wide programs to detect criminal violations or hazardous conditions in order to reduce crime, limit property loss, improve safety of physicians, employees and members, and minimize liability; developing relationships with internal department stakeholders and collaborating with local and regional law enforcement and other government agencies to better assess security risks and respond to incidents and inquiries; ensuring that compliance plans are robust and attending to continuous improvement of plans; holding teams accountable for driving security and risk assessments, consulting with management to identify and mitigate liability and risks; and using strategic thinking, expert judgment, and discretion to drive resolution of highly complex escalated issues using multidisciplinary methods.
Drives continuous improvement of security systems by: championing, creating, and implementing long-term plans to integrate cutting edge security technology design standards into new construction, renovation, and/or life cycle replacement projects in accordance with organizational initiatives; ensuring teams needs are met in adapting to security technology changes and ensuring effective collaboration with internal stakeholders (e.g., Information Technology, Risk Management); leading teams to conduct industry analysis and ensuring best practices are applied; serving as a subject matter expert to align teams recommendations for security solutions for new construction, renovation, and/or life cycle replacement projects with region-wide and national strategic plans; and defining and communicating processes and procedures for maintaining and actively monitoring alarms, detection devices, and other physical security devices.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum five (5) years experience managing an executive protection program.
Minimum four (4) years of experience managing operational or project budgets.
Minimum seven (7) years of experience in a leadership role with direct reports.
Bachelors degree in Law Enforcement, Business Administration, Public Policy, Healthcare Management, Criminal Justice, Corporate Security, Security Management, or related field AND minimum ten (10) years of experience in Security Management, Hospital Security, Law Enforcement Management, or directly related field OR Minimum thirteen (13) years of experience in Security Management, Hospital Security, Law Enforcement Management, or a directly related field.
