LHH is partnering with a high-growth, venture-backed SaaS company preparing for a potential IPO to identify a Director of Financial Reporting. This is a high-impact leadership role, responsible for overseeing the company’s external financial reporting process, owning technical accounting, and helping build a public company-ready finance function from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the preparation of all external financial reporting, including quarterly and annual SEC filings (Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, S-1), in compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations
• Drive IPO readiness initiatives, including drafting of S-1, designing disclosure controls, and establishing internal reporting processes aligned with public company standards
• Manage and interpret technical accounting matters including revenue recognition (ASC 606), lease accounting (ASC 842), stock-based compensation, business combinations, and purchase price accounting
• Collaborate with external auditors and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
• Partner closely with the CFO, Controller, and Legal teams to support investor relations, audit committee reporting, and corporate transactions
• Own the implementation and maintenance of accounting policies and key internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR/SOX readiness)
• Assist in the evaluation of new accounting standards and their potential impact on financial statements
• Help build and lead a growing financial reporting and technical accounting team, with an eye toward scaling for a public company environment

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required
• 8+ years of progressive experience in accounting and financial reporting, with Big 4 public accounting and in-house SEC reporting experience preferred
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and IPO processes
• Experience in a pre-IPO or newly public technology/SaaS environment strongly preferred
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects, communicate technical concepts clearly, and operate in a high-growth, fast-paced environment
• Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and strong Excel/analytical skills
• Must be a U.S. Citizen; East Coast location strongly preferred due to team collaboration and time zone alignment
• Base Salary: Up to $215,000 + annual bonus
• Work Environment: Fully remote
