The Director of Information Technology is responsible for the overall technology strategy, overseeing the implementation of technology solutions, and ensuring that technology systems are aligned with business goals. This role focuses on managing technology implementations, driving user satisfaction, managing corporate security, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The IT Director will lead the organization’s technology initiatives to deliver innovative, secure, and scalable solutions while ensuring smooth operations, user experience, and legal compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Technology Implementations:
- Project manage the design, development, and implementation of advanced technology solutions to support business goals and growth.
- Drive the selection and deployment of new technologies that optimize operational efficiency, enhance product offerings, and provide a competitive advantage.
- Oversee the integration of new technology with existing systems, ensuring compatibility, scalability, and minimal disruption to business operations.
- Manage the full technology implementation lifecycle, from planning and execution to monitoring and optimization.
- Collaborate with product management, engineering, and IT teams to ensure successful rollouts of technology initiatives.
User Satisfaction:
- Ensure that technology solutions are user-centric and meet the needs of internal and external users.
- Project manage the creation of seamless user experiences, ensuring that platforms and systems are intuitive, responsive, and accessible.
- Oversee the help-desk team, ensuring timely resolution of user issues and providing effective support for hardware, software, and network related concerns.
- Collect and analyze user feedback to drive continuous improvement of systems and applications.
- Work closely with customer service, product teams, and support to address user issues and enhance customer experience with technology solutions.
- Implement support frameworks and proactive monitoring to ensure high system uptime and fast issue resolution, contributing to higher user satisfaction.
Corporate Security:
- Oversee the development and enforcement of cybersecurity strategies to protect the organization’s data, intellectual property, and technology infrastructure.
- Work closely with the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and other security leaders to ensure corporate systems are secure from cyber threats, including data breaches, malware, and other malicious activities.
- Ensure the deployment of robust security measures across internal and external systems, including encryption, multi-factor authentication, and intrusion detection systems.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and implement necessary controls to minimize vulnerabilities.
- Lead incident response efforts to address any security breaches, ensuring prompt resolution and long-term preventive measures.
Compliance and Regulatory Oversight:
- Ensure the company’s technology and systems comply with relevant laws, industry regulations, and standards such as GDPR, CCPA, SOC 2, and others.
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to monitor and integrate the latest regulatory changes affecting the organization’s technology landscape.
- Develop and enforce technology policies that maintain compliance and ensure secure, efficient operations across all departments.
- Oversee technology audits and assessments, ensuring that internal and external systems meet regulatory and security requirements.
- Provide leadership during audits and regulatory reviews, ensuring proper documentation, reporting, and issue resolution.
Strategic Leadership and Team Development:
- Provide leadership to the technology team, including engineering, IT, and development departments, fostering a collaborative, innovative, and performance-driven culture.
- Mentor and develop a team of technical professionals, supporting their career growth and skills development.
- Collaborate with other senior leaders to define technology objectives, ensuring alignment with overall corporate strategy.
- Serve as the company’s technology spokesperson, representing the organization at industry events, conferences, and external meetings.
- Lead and influence the executive team in technology-related decision-making, bringing data-driven insights to guide business direction.
Innovation and Future Technology Trends:
- Continuously explore new and emerging technologies (e.g., AI, machine learning, cloud computing, blockchain, etc.) to position the company as an innovator and early adopter.
- Evaluate and implement digital transformation initiatives to improve operational efficiency, customer engagement, and product offerings.
- Drive strategic initiatives in product development, research, and experimentation, ensuring the organization stays ahead of technological trends and competitive pressures.
- Maintain a strong understanding of market trends, competitor strategies, and customer needs to inform technology strategy.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (Master’s preferred).
- Proven experience in an information technology leadership role.
- Extensive experience in technology strategy, project management, software development, and system architecture.
- Expertise in corporate security practices, risk management, and implementing secure systems.
- Knowledge of compliance requirements, including industry-specific regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, SOC 2).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across the business.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex technology implementations and driving user satisfaction.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a customer-focused mindset.
- Familiarity with modern cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and DevOps practices.
- Experience with Agile, Scrum, or similar project management methodologies.
- Strong understanding of data privacy laws and security frameworks.
- Experience in building and scaling high-performance technology platforms.
- Certifications in cloud computing (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional) or cybersecurity (e.g., CISSP, CISM) are a plus.
