The Director, Quality will lead Internal Audits, External Audits, Quality Training, Data Analysis, and Quality Systems Improvement and Maintenance. They will ensure ongoing compliance with applicable regulations and standards through continuous review of these systems. This role serves as the focal point for all quality, process, and system matters, making decisions related to the Quality Management System (QMS)/Corporate Business Process linkage and format, AS 9100/ISO interpretation, and approach within the organization. The Director will also manage and administer quality assurance programs.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Develop, implement, and maintain a QMS compliant with current AS 9100 and/or ISO 9001 standards.
- Maintain certification of the QMS (Business Operating System/BOS) for the enterprise.
- Establish and maintain QMS certifications at projects as required by contracts or directed by Operations.
- Create policies, programs, and procedures related to Corporate Quality and AS 9100/ISO programs, including process control, improvement, and audits.
- Design, schedule, and manage enterprise-wide quality audits.
- Implement improvements related to reviews and establish appropriate metrics and KPIs.
- Maintain procedures related to the quality department.
- Set quality control objectives and coordinate with other managers to maximize quality and reliability while minimizing costs.
- Assist senior management and project quality personnel in understanding international standards, compliance, inspections, and audits.
- Ensure the implementation of the Corporate Business Process model and QMS template organization-wide.
- Ensure Process Owners have a timetable for documenting current processes as simple, integrated descriptions of policies and procedures.
- Monitor BOS for quality issues and activities.
- Work with IT staff to maintain BOS system integrity and functionality.
- Track customer satisfaction program effectiveness and report negative trends using a balanced scorecard approach.
- Implement and monitor the 3rd Party Customer Satisfaction Program.
- Monitor Contractor Performance Assessment Reports (CPARs) for various contracts and task orders.
- Act as the ISO 9001 Management Representative.
- Collect and analyze data to report on quality, processes, and systems performance periodically, and report trends and issues to executive management.
- Address project quality deficiencies that are not corrected timely.
- Collaborate with Operations, HR, Finance, Legal, and Corporate Management to improve quality, systems, and processes.
- Manage quality programs to ensure timelines and commitments are met.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience with 10 years in Quality Assurance/Compliance.
- At least 7 years managing direct reports at the managerial level.
LICENSE & CERTIFICATIONS:
ASQ Certification preferred (CQM, CQE, CQA).
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Knowledge of AS9100, AS9110, and AS9120 standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to interface effectively at all organizational levels, with regulatory agencies, and customers.
- Well-organized with excellent record-keeping skills.
- Proactive, capable, and dedicated individual who can work independently with minimal support.
TRAVEL:
Periodic travel for program reviews, audits, and upon request.
SECURITY CLEARANCE:
Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one.
