Job Summary:
We are seeking a .NET Developer / Systems Analyst to join our IT team in support of custom .NET applications within the Energy Supply Work and Asset Management space. This individual will work on applications such as Facility Ratings, System Reliability, and other internal tools. The ideal candidate will participate in full software development life cycle (SDLC) projects and provide production support, working under the direction of senior developers.
The role requires strong technical skills in .NET development, T-SQL, and front-end technologies, as well as experience working in Agile or Kanban environments. A hybrid work schedule is required following an initial 2-week onsite training period.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle including requirements, design, development, testing, and deployment.
- Provide ongoing support and maintenance for custom .NET applications.
- Create and consume RESTful web services (ASP.NET Web API).
- Use Azure DevOps and Git for version control and CI/CD processes.
- Write and review technical and functional unit tests to ensure software quality.
- Conduct thorough code reviews including documentation, gated builds, code coverage, and adherence to best practices.
- Collaborate in Agile/Kanban team environments to deliver on sprint goals.
- Provide support for vendor software applications and integrations.
- Develop and maintain reusable NuGet packages as needed.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years with C# .NET (v8), .NET Core, .NET Standard, and Visual Studio
- 2+ years experience with Windows Forms and Git
- 1+ year experience with ASP.NET Web Forms, Azure DevOps, asynchronous handling, and UML
- Proficiency in T-SQL and SQL Server
- Experience in technical and functional unit testing
- Skilled in code review and pull request management
- Understanding of Agile/Kanban methodologies
Highly Desired Experience:
- Utility industry experience (3+ years)
Tools & Technologies:
- Database: T-SQL
- Testing: Unit Testing (technical and functional)
- Other: NuGet, RESTful APIs, asynchronous handling, pull requests, code reviews
