Responsibilities:
- Reviews and manages the continuous production and delivery of the product to the customer.
- Reports to EABU and local management the status of ongoing production.
- Develops plans and methods to achieve workforce involvement to increase productivity, enhance safety, drive quality improvements, and focus on the customer.
- Reviews and ensures quality goals, monitors process control, oversees production costs, and ensures that corrective action is taken to resolve customer complaints, delivery, cost, and quality deviations; defines inventory adjustments, delivers improved production rates, and reduces scrap.
- Checks and analyzes production forecasts with workforce capacities to prevent backlogs or overcapacity; ensures production assurance with material, tools, and production devices.
- Business planning: In alignment with business goals and objectives, establishes short and long-term EA BU goals in Mexico; manages activities to meet goals, provides forecasts, and operation plan inputs.
- Plans, organizes, and manages new project implementation and production ramp-up to meet customer and EABU requirements in quality, price, and delivery.
- Acts as project manager for new projects towards Dyson and EABU.
- Creates advance raw material, production line, quality, planning, and time schedule to align with (a) Dyson expectations, milestone plan, ramp-up plan, mass run plan; (b) EABU expectations.
- Engages in daily discussions with Dyson engineers, project, procurement, tooling teams, and also with Dyson Contract Manufacturer’s related departments for specifications, drawings, and tooling.
- Ensures all Dyson requirements regarding drawings, specifications, and tooling are communicated to all related parties within Bizlink including TXM, EABU Central functions, and ELP and Mexico.
- Ensures compliance with EABU drawing standards and drawing storage standards. Manages drawing version control to ensure all drawings between Dyson and Bizlink maintain the same revision version.
- Keeps track of timelines closely to ensure that all related parties (Dyson Malaysia, Dyson Mexico, Flex Mexico, TXM, ELP) are followed up and adhere to the timeline and their tasks; manages immediate escalation within Bizlink and Dyson or Dyson’s contract manufacturer.
- Serves as the first interface to Dyson or their CM in all cases of problems except price negotiation or contract issues; ensures immediate forwarding of this information within TXM, EABU Central, and ELP/Mexico.
- Prepares samples based on Dyson requests, ensuring samples sent out meet Dyson’s quality requirements and arrive on time; coordinates Bizlink DPAP sampling and documentation submission for Dyson to provide Part Approval Report.
- Hosts a weekly conference with Dyson Malaysia, Dyson Mexico, and Flex Project managers to ensure:
- (a) Bizlink proposed qualification timeline is on track.
- (b) Coordinates all testing-related issues with customers and internally (including TXM and ELP).
- (c) Coordinates all quality-related issues with customers and internally (including TXM and ELP).
- (d) Coordinates tooling release issues.
- Interacts with existing EABU production sites for product design and process engineering; collects information on necessary machine specifications and ensures that equipment and tools are ordered in time.
- Collects product design and BOM input from other EABU sites and Central functions.
- Organizes trips for the EABU Mexico team to learn and inspect existing equipment in China or Europe and get trained on this equipment; ensures transfer of products or machines and technologies.
- Contributes to new RFQs for production in Mexico by adding measured performance and cost data from existing Mexico production.
- Performs other tasks as per superior’s order, exceptionally outside of this description.
Qualifications:
- Fluent in English (speaking and writing); should have Spanish/Mexican as a mother language.
- Technical background in engineering or production.
- Enjoys working in a multinational context; proven ability to achieve results in a multi-language environment; openness to international business travel and learning.
- Several years of experience as a project or program manager in industries accustomed to quality-based management styles (automotive, electrical appliances, machine building).
