Economist Description, Duties, and Accountabilities
- Ex-Ante Development Impact Assessments:
- Conduct detailed impact assessments for manufacturing sector investment projects.
- Use the Anticipated Impact Measurement and Monitoring (AIMM) framework to evaluate and articulate expected impacts.
- Provide economic input into investment approval reports, aligned with IFC's strategic goals.
- Ex-post Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Monitor project impacts post-implementation to ensure alignment with projections and objectives.
- Contribute to impact evaluations and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
- Impact Measurement Methodology Refinement:
- Track global manufacturing trends, especially in emerging markets.
- Improve impact measurement methods to address new challenges and opportunities.
- Analytical Work:
- Apply economic modeling to assess impacts on local economies, jobs, and sustainability.
- Analyze trends like supply chain and technological advances.
- Generate reports and presentations for decision-makers and stakeholders.
- Corporate Reporting:
- Ensure accurate impact data collection and reporting.
- Support results aggregation for the World Bank Group Scorecard system.
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Perform other tasks as assigned by CDI management.
Minimum Requirements
- Master’s degree in Economics or related field, with at least 7 years of relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing sector trends, impact assessment frameworks, and evaluation experience.
- Skills in econometric modeling and data analysis software (R, Stata, SAS, Python).
- Excellent communication skills in English and ability to work in multicultural teams.
