Description
The Maritime System Solutions Portfolio (MSS) within the Maritime Systems Division (MSD) is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and highly capable Electrical Engineering Manager to join the Leidos team in Lynnwood, WA, to lead a multidisciplinary team supporting maritime products. The portfolio includes underwater vehicle systems, maritime sensors, IT & engineering services for maritime applications, and underwater data acquisition and telemetry systems for ISR, IPOE, SSW, and platform signature measurement.
The Electrical Engineering Manager will provide strategic and tactical leadership, technical guidance across multiple programs, identify and communicate customer needs, ensure engineering excellence, and manage resource planning within a matrixed team.
The Maritime Systems Division of Leidos develops advanced processing technologies for C4ISR systems, including sensor systems, communication, positioning, tactical decision systems, and autonomous platforms. The division supports a broad range of activities, from prototype development for DARPA, ONR, and other S&T customers to ongoing Navy missions. The successful candidate will join a world-class team recognized for maritime systems development.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and tactical leadership for the electrical engineering team across various programs.
- Lead technical efforts on project and program execution.
- Facilitate system design and develop subsystem requirements.
- Mentor team members and provide subject matter expertise.
- Coordinate tasking and supervision of the electrical engineering team with program managers to meet requirements, schedule, and budget.
- Participate in the Business Capture Process, including proposal writing, designing, and reviewing.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's and/or master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or physics from an accredited college.
- 10+ years of engineering experience in subsea maritime programs involving software and electro-mechanical systems.
- 5+ years in leadership roles.
- Ability to obtain Secret clearance; US Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years leading design, development, and integration of subsea maritime systems.
- Understanding of ISO 9001:2015 standards.
- Experience with DoD program management, including execution, contracts, and subcontractor management.
- Experience transitioning products from design to manufacturing.
- Experience with UUVs, payloads, and deployed subsea systems.
