The Employee Relations Specialist will conduct investigations of moderately complex employee relations issues and will present corrective action recommendations to field leadership, as applicable. The Employee Relations Specialist is expected to be an advisor to the business to ensure consistent accountability and compliance with company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts moderate to complex employee relations investigations on a variety of matters, including but not limited to violation of policy or procedure, perceived unfair treatment, and unlawful workplace activity.
- Creates and provides written investigative reports to in-house legal counsel and HR leadership within prescribed timelines.
- Documents employee relations issues and investigations in designated case management system.
- Provides weekly investigation updates to the Employee Relations Director.
- Provides consultation, guidance, corrective action, and coaching solutions to Campus Directors and Department leaders to resolve employee relations issues consistently across the organization.
- Conducts regularly-scheduled "check-in" group meetings with assigned campus and department leaders to provide updates and guidance on selected topics and answer questions regarding current issues.
- Reviews corrective actions for employees ensuring consistency with company policy.
- Participates in involuntary termination meetings with affected employees.
- Processes all terminations for assigned campuses and departments.
- Leads and participates in annual new leader training meetings.
- Assists Employee Relations Director with special projects.
- Works across organizational boundaries to drive consistency, frequently collaborating with Brand and Campus leadership, Payroll, and School Operations.
Attributes/Experience/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 3-5 years of Employee Relations experience; experience in an Education environment a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
