Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide medical services at the level of a Paramedic to maintain the health of employees and client personnel.
- Achieve staff results by communicating expectations, planning, monitoring, appraising, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.
- Perform emergency skills, including managing respiratory, trauma, and cardiac emergencies, and patient assessment.
- Assess urgent or emergent health needs, analyze data, and develop realistic care plans with the medical team.
- Recognize and treat illnesses and injuries according to operating instructions within licensure and state regulations.
- Measure and record vital signs, collect specimens, and escort patients and visitors.
- Prepare examining rooms, organize medical supplies, and maintain equipment.
- Record and report patient information in accordance with protocols and the Privacy Act.
- Engage in professional development and continuing education to stay current with healthcare practices and trends.
- Protect patient privacy through confidentiality, infection control, proper medication administration, and equipment maintenance.
- Identify and document signs and symptoms of conditions.
- Exercise initiative, judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills daily.
- Make independent judgments and prioritize workload.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Minimum of 5 years recent experience as a Paramedic
- At least 1 year recent experience in a supervisory Paramedic role
- Active and unrestricted State Paramedic License, free from adverse actions, and able to be credentialed by Acuity policy
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, PHTLS
- National Registry Paramedic preferred; some positions require NR-P
- Ability to multitask, be detail-oriented, organized, and communicate effectively
- Proficiency with computers and MS Office
- Flexibility to adapt to shift changes and operational needs
- Recent clinical experience in patient care for at least 6 months in the past year
Physical Requirements and Work Conditions:
- Prolonged sitting and standing
- Bending, stooping, and lifting as needed for patient care
