This role provides guidance and mentorship to the Engineering Department who is responsible for design adequacy in compliance with most relevant standards/specs/code, quality, safety and scheduling. Experience must be within the design and analysis associated with heavy highway, rail, and marine structures construction.
Requirements
- Active Texas P.E. License
- Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Construction Management or related degree required
- 8+ years of experience in the civil construction industry, specifically within the fields of heavy highway, bridges, heavy civil, dirt work.
- Experience with construction design engineering
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough research, due diligence, and cross-discipline collaboration during the design development process.
- Provide effective design supervision and mentorship to engineering staff, supporting their professional growth and development.
- Deliver safe, code-compliant, and structurally sound designs that are both efficient and tailored to operational needs.
- Oversee design implementation in the field to ensure high quality and adherence to project standards.
- Maintain open, clear communication with project teams to build strong working relationships and promote collaboration.
- Apply strong engineering fundamentals and adaptability to tackle diverse design challenges and solve problems effectively.
- Utilize appropriate engineering software efficiently to perform accurate analysis and create optimal designs.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers by leading through example, reviewing their work, and offering constructive feedback.
