Cape Fox Facilities Services is seeking a Facilities Planning Manager to join our team in Bethesda, MD in support of the NIH.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the functioning of building systems including mechanical, fire and life safety, elevators, etc.
- Coordinate and facilitate renovation projects.
- Monitor minor construction/renovation projects.
- Work with staff on developing blueprints that include current space conditions, demolition plans, and new work plans.
- Work with POs on the design and construction services of renovation projects ranging from minor alterations to major design projects.
- Manage multiple projects from design through construction completion.
- Develop plans for all renovation projects, considering architectural, engineering, and budgetary feasibility.
- Provide consultation on facility renovation and remodeling projects.
- Participate in planning meetings with space and staff, architects, and engineers regarding space and construction projects.
- Provide evaluations, planning, programming, studies, investigations, and design concept reviews to support various facility projects.
- Consult with staff to determine factors affecting interior environment planning, such as budget, architectural preferences, purpose, and function.
- Coordinate space, telecommunications, safety, timelines, and utility installations for relocations and specialized equipment.
- Work with safety staff to ensure all safety policies are implemented and maintained.
- Collaborate with investigators and construction staff to find cost-effective solutions and seek technical input from experts.
- Assist staff in reutilizing materials, furniture, and stored items for future use.
- Create budget projections for renovations, including design, fees, construction, moves, furniture, and commissioning; track all renovation budgets, especially at fiscal year-end.
- Monitor schedules and costs of major projects to prevent overruns and inform government representatives of deviations.
- Perform impact studies to assess resource support needed for new scientific equipment in building infrastructures.
