Field Service Engineer
Anticipated Duration: 6+ Month Contract to Hire
Responsibilities:
- Travel to multiple sites within a specified region to provide onsite services including:
- Troubleshooting
- Hardware Repair
- Basic Software troubleshooting
- Product Installation
- Basic Client training post installation
- Installs hardware / software & networks devices and configures product at customer sites.
- Diagnoses and resolves product performance problems.
- Performs maintenance and repairs
- Ensures customer satisfaction by advising customers on preventive maintenance and configurations, which may impact product performance.
- Proactively responds to potential equipment issues to prevent unplanned interruption of customers' business.
- Deliver fully integrated solutions, which may include peripherals, communications, operating systems and applications software.
Field Service Engineer Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in electronics and/or chemistry or equivalent work experience
- 4+ years of experience as a field engineer supporting Analytical Instrumentation products, with 80% of that support being hardware focused (must have Gas Chromatography experience)
- Basic knowledge of networking (ability to connect devices to the network and ping them to ensure connectivity)
- Basic knowledge of electronics and power systems
- Ability to follow detailed technical instruction sets.
- Ability to maintain a calm demeanor with tight deadlines.
- Exemplary technical and process troubleshooting skills.
- Log gathering experience.
- Understanding of remote troubleshooting techniques and tools
- Case management experience (Salesforce Service Cloud preferred but not required)
- Technical aptitude paired with ability & desire to quickly learn new technologies.
- Ability to work with minimal guidance.
- Ability to analyze and diagnose problems and work independently to solve them.
- Dedication and focus on customer satisfaction and follow-through.
- Manage all internal & external interactions in a professional and courteous manner.
The hourly pay rate range for this position is $45.00 to $60.00 (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
